Convenor: Chris Ostrowski Phone: 0410 448 286 Email: criskris@bigpond.net.au | Club meets Tuesdays 7.00pm to 10.00pm Venue: Baulkham Hills North Primary Scool, 2 Girralong Avenue, Baulkham Hills |
From the convenor: Baulkham Hills Scrabble Club was originally formed in 1995 by Alan Gauci and met at the Crestwood Community Centre. In its halcyon days, there were over 70 members registered at the Club. While numbers did fall over the years, membership is once again growing and the Club’s future is secure. The venue has changed twice and is now at a local Primary School. The Club actually sponsors the annual Creative Writing shield at the school, thus providing another source of publicity for Scrabble. The Club is also promoted through community billboards, local media and signage. Each visit on Tuesday evenings is charged only $4 which covers the cost of all equipment, support materials, membership of Scrabble NSW and its benefits, refreshments and even the Christmas function held at a local RSL. By any standards, it is great value indeed. Players of all levels are catered for, from beginners to Masters levels but all played in good spirit with members helping each other in the intricacies of the world’s best game. Several of our players are regular tournament players, both past and present. The Club also runs its annual tournament in August, listed on the Scrabble NSW tournament calendar and held at an external venue. Baulkham Hills Scrabble Club welcomes all new players no matter what age or ability level. First visit is free so come along and experience this amazing game.
