On St David's day, March 1st, 87 Scrabble enthusiasts converged on Balmain Town Hall for the annual BUGS (Balmain) Tournament. In all, eight games were played. An innovation at this tournament was a prize for the highest LOSING score for the day in each section instead of the more conventional high word score. This was greeted with some approbation, and the winning losers were Ivor Zetler in Section A with 438, Raya Wilkinson in Section B with 430, Trish Farland in Section C with 395, and Daphne Bezuidenhout in Section D with 364.
