Newcastle Club was well represented, as was Woy Woy Club, also on the Central Coast, and it was pleasing to see at least 8 novices from the local area. Helen Young, the convenor of the Wyong Club, ensured the tournament went off smoothly, with excellent preparation and support from her own club members, plus the secondment of three of her grandchildren for running duties, with Dad doing the adjudication.
Not too many of Sydney's Masters ventured out, possibly saving themselves for Wagga next weekend. One who did make the trip was well rewarded for the effort - Robert Tomkins bought himself $5 worth of Keno tickets at lunch time, and picked up a cool $2600 pay out. He hasn't shouted yet!
So next time you see a NSW tournament being held in a Registered Club - get along and win yourself a motza over lunch.
