A great time was had in Kempsey last weekend. Joy and Dorothy and all the local players and assistants made us all feel very welcome.
Each section had a bye which was worth a draw. That explains all the .5 results posted below. All but 1 player in each section enjoyed a bye. John Barker had a tooth pulled on the way up so he had the first bye in Section A.
A strong showing by NSW failed to keep the 2 Queenslanders too much at bay. Interesting to note that although Bob Jackman and Anne Drew came 1st and 2nd respectively, they still went down in points. This demonstrates their love of the game and willingness to play in any tournament despite the risk to ratings. The same can be said of John Barker who has told me that he regards every tournament as a party to be enjoyed. This annual event is one which is well worth supporting and we would hope to see more players next year.
